POLICY DEVELOPMENT, IMPLEMENTATION AND REVIEW
The Hamilton Junior High School will develop policies to control the management of the school (Section 75 Education Act). The policies will be developed in consultation with the Principal, who will be expected to consult the relevant staff. The Principal will use the policies to inform and direct his/her management (Section 76, Education Act). The Policies will be reviewed as part of the Board’s cycle of review.
i. To control the management of the school according to the Education Act.
ii. To incorporate the advice of the Principal and, through the Principal, the staff.
iii. To assist the Board, Principal and staff to achieve the aims and goals of the Junior High School’s Charter.
i. The Board and Principal will draft a policy.
ii. The Principal will consult relevant staff and amend the policy as required.
iii. The Principal will return the policy to the Board with any amendments.
iv. The Board will discuss the policy and further amend if necessary, and approve the policy.
v. The Board will review the policy as part of its cycle of review unless circumstances change or at the request of the Principal.
vi. The Principal is expected to inform all staff of the policies especially policies that are specific for particular staff or teams.
vii. The Principal shall keep up to date copies of policies in their office and in the staff work room.
viii. The Principal will use the policies to inform and direct their management as appropriate.
This policy will be reviewed as part of the Board’s cycle of review/schedule
